Bootstrap Records was founded to support local music. We will always focus on small-batch customers, helping you grow until it makes sense for you to buy and sell CDs in thousand-piece batches.
The idea of this company came from our visits to local music. It seemed that there was great music everywhere we went, but most of the bands didn’t have CDs, because of the hugely expensive process of releasing your own music. There were only two options for these bands: burn a disc on your home PC and try to sell something that looks unprofessional, or dole out thousands of dollars for a truckload of CDs. Most of the bands we met didn’t want to do the first option, and couldn’t afford to do the second - but we still wanted to buy their CDs!
We started to research the CD production process, finding ways to eliminate the need for huge batches while still providing professional quality. Our CDs allow you to promote your band and your art and your voice, any way you want. They will help you to make money while doing what you want to do. And our small batches let you avoid signing your music over to a huge corporation - so that you stay in control.
The company is called "Bootstrap," because we are all trying to lift ourselves up. None of us has a million dollars to throw around, but with the right tools and the right friends, we’ll all get there.
